Jay Bhakta, DDS, is renowned for his easygoing and composed personality, which aids in making his patients feel at ease during their dental appointments. According to him, patients ought to feel informed and empowered to take an active role in their dental care. “I find that having a connection with each patient and listening to their primary concern and their goals helps us work in tandem with one another to come up with a treatment plan that works for both parties.” The best part of his job is the sense of fulfillment when he’s able to help a patient in any way. “Whether it’s getting you out of pain or helping you achieve the smile you desire, it is a good feeling to know I am truly making a difference in someone’s life.”
Dr. Jay was raised in the small town of Liberal, Kansas by his parents, who immigrated to the US from India. He graduated from Wichita State University’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, respectively. As a new general dentist at Parkwood Family Dentistry, Dr. Jay will provide patients thorough evaluations of their oral health, take the time to hear their worries, and work with them to develop treatment programs that are specific to their wishes and requirements. He offers a wide range of treatments, such as root canal therapy, tooth extractions, dental bridges, crowns, and tooth-colored fillings. Also, he will offer aesthetic procedures like Invisalign clear aligners and dental implants. “I look forward to developing meaningful relationships with my patients in the Salina community, and helping them improve their oral health or achieve a feeling of confidence in their smile.”
When he’s not serving patients, Dr. Jay describes himself as a huge “foodie” and enjoys cooking new cuisines from various cultures including American, Mexican, Italian, and Indian foods. “It’s a great time when I’m able to make a good dish and share it with friends and family.” He and his wife, Mona, look forward to living and working in Salina, KS, and building relationships with the community.
